Brief Biography:
Rhacel Parrenas received her Ph.D. from the Department of Comparative Ethnic Studies at University of California, Berkeley. She is Assistant Professor of Women's Studies and Asian American Studies at University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation and the University of California Office of the President's Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Her recent articles focus on immigrant families, reproductive labor, and the political economy of globalization.
