Brief Biography:
Dr. John Wang received his doctorate degree in Criminology from Indiana University of PA. He taught for six years at Texas Southern University in Houston and three years at Houston Police Academy. He also served as co-chair for the Mayorâs Asian Advisory Board for three years. Currently, he is a professor of criminal justice at California State University-Long Beach. His major research interests include Asian culture and American legal system, infrastructure of Asian community, Asian gangs, legal issues of Chinese illegal immigrants, comparative legal systems, high tech crime, and transnational crime. Dr. Wang has participated in several research projects sponsored by the National Gang Crime Research Center.

Dr. John Z. Wang has taught at Houston Police Academy on Asian Culture and Communities, Asian Gangs, and Asian Organized Crimes for three years. He has made numerous presentations on the issues of Asian-Americans and the Legal System at international and national conferences.
