Interstate 680 Click on any image to enlarge   Unlike the industrial corridor, I-880, Interstate-680 is a pastoral freeway through the largely undeveloped hills of Fremont. Although this road enters into the heart of the city, views remain pastoral as the freeway remains surrounded by hills. The development that exists is new residential hill houses and large-surface retail such as Frys. A few remaining family farms remain along the highway, but For Sale signs indicate that the farming era of Fremont will soon exist only in history.
