Training Workshop for the Maya Cartographers

June 22-25, 1996

San Antonio, Toledo District

 

  

The three members of UC Berkeley GeoMap team met for four intensive days of advanced cartographic training for the three Maya cartographers: Basilio Ah, Julio Sanchez, Andres Coh. Included in the training were detailed exercises such as drawing technique, text placement and usage, and data representation techniques. The cartographers were also introduced to the concepts of computer cartography, and an intensive troubleshooting session on field cartography was held.
