Morphology, Distribution, and Habitat (After Hickman, 1993)

The seed is 0.8-1.9 millimeters and ridged. The plant is abundant and found in disturbed places, moist meadows, streambanks, and roadsides. It is at altitudes less than 4100 meters in most of North America.
