Morphology, Distribution, and Habitat (After Mason, 1957 and Hickman, 1993)

The seeds are numerous, reniform, glabrous, and prominently tuberculate on surface. The plant is found is marshes, swamplands, and along wet banks. It is distributed along slough of the lower Butte Creek north and west of Marysville Buttes, thence south along the Sacramento River, and frequent among tules on the delta islands of the San Joaquin and Sacramento rivers, ascending the San Joaquin River course only a short distance.
