Morphology, Distribution,

The seed is ellipsoid, dull but distinctly reticulate. The plant
is found in pools, irrigation ditches, reservoirs, and rice fields.
It is distributed in Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys, near the
coast from San Luis Obispo County north to San Francisco, and
southern California in Orange and San Bernardino counties.
